NEWSFLASH

Lottery project set for launch

Knowsley CVS is about to launch its new Big Lottery funded project - Bare Essentials.

The project, which will provide capacity building and infrastructure support for the voluntary, community and faith sector in Knowsley has been funded by the Big Lottery for three years.

Four new posts are being created to deliver the project - a Group Development Officer, a Networking Officer, a Governance Support Officer and a Volunteer Centre Lead. Recruitment is now underway and it is hoped that staff will be in post by late summer.

A key objectives of the project is to establish an accredited Volunteer Centre for Knowsley, providing the full range of support and information services, both for volunteers and volunteer organisations. This will complement another KCVS project, vinspired, which provides support and information for people under 25 who are interested in volunteering.

To help facilitate the new range of support services which will be delivered by the project the entrance to KCVS's offices in Nutgrove Villa, Huyton has recently undergone a re-vamp to create a customer friendly Reception facility and a dedicated Resource Area, where a range of information can be accessed either in paper format or via the IT point.

Full details about the project's official start will be published here and in Voluntary News.
