We exist to promote the effectiveness of voluntary action in five key areas –

Services and support for voluntary, community and faith groups –

Training
Voluntary Organisation and Group development
Funding advice
Volunteer development
Managed accommodation and training and meeting rooms

Liaison – we encourage and facilitate -

Networking between individuals and groups
Networking between the voluntary and community sectors and the statutory and private sectors
Helping local groups learn from one another.

Representation -

We encourage local groups to put forward their views on local and national policies that affect them.
Create and promote forums and channels used by Government and other to consult the community.

Development -

We take a lead in identifying new needs and responding to them
Giving direct support to the sector to develop services

Strategic Partnerships -

We work with our partners to empower local groups to take part in partnerships to support a wide range of regeneration issues.
