What we do
What we do
Knowsley CVS was formed in 1993 as the successor to four Councils for Voluntary Service which had operated in Knowsley since 1964.
Knowsley CVS operates throughout the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley from its Head Office at Nutgrove Villa, Huyton.
Knowsley CVS’s principal objectives are to reduce the inequalities of health, life chances, and wealth and to encourage and enable all people to collectively play an active part in their community. It achieves these objectives through its core work, which is: -
- Development of the voluntary, community and faith sector - Establishing and supporting new projects, advising on structures, funding, budgets, recruitment etc.
- Services to community and voluntary organisations - Acquisition and provision of resources, providing managed office accommodation, circulating information relevant to the work of voluntary and community organisations.
- Liaison between these organisations - Enabling the organisations’ views to be represented to the local statutory and business sectors, and national government and to uphold and promote good practice to ensure that services offered by voluntary organisations are of the highest possible standard.
- Partnership working - Promoting, developing and supporting partnership working to address local priorities and needs. Knowsley CVS is also fully engaged with partners across the Borough as a member of The Knowsley Partnership.
