‘The Third Sector’s Role in Supporting Young People in Merseyside: Apprenticeships and the Youth Contract 2012’

The aim of this event is to raise awareness, improve access and stimulate interest in/ uptake of apprenticeships and employment of young people by Third Sector employers in Merseyside.

Objectives:
To disseminate up-to-date, practical knowledge and information and generate discussion amongst Third Sector employers about:

• Apprenticeships and what it’s like to employ an Apprentice
• The new Third Sector Apprenticeship Framework
• Other opportunities and initiatives to support the employment of young people, including new funding opportunities available through Youth Contract 2012 and how they can be accessed by Third Sector employers.

• Skills-Third Sector: our sector’s workforce development body
• Fair Train: a Group Training Association (GTA) for the Third sector.
• Local Third Sector employers of apprentices
